A county man who allegedly threatened a woman with a knife and a rock Wednesday, March 15, has been charged in the incident.
Michael W. Kelley, 32, St. Clair, was charged Thursday in Franklin County Associate Circuit Court with unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest and domestic assault. Prosecutors requested a $30,000 cash-only bond.
According to the probable cause statement filed in the Franklin County Prosecutors Office, a Franklin County deputy responded to Paradise Mobile Home Park at 3:38 p.m. for a report of a man threatening to throw a large rock at a woman.
Authorities allege that Kelley peeked around the corner of the trailer and then fled on foot when the deputy arrived at the home but was caught after a pursuit.
The victim alleges that Kelley also threatened her with a kitchen knife. A neighbor also stated that Kelley had threatened the woman.
Authorities located the rock near the front of the trailer, but no knife was located.
