A second St. Clair man connected to the theft of vehicles has been charged.
Joseph Thrower, 27, was charged Friday in Franklin County Associate Circuit Court with stealing a motor vehicle and resisting arrest.
Blake G. Schuster, 19, St. Clair, was charged Wednesday in Franklin County Associate Circuit Court with two counts of stealing a motor vehicle and resisting arrest.
According to Franklin County Sheriff Steve Pelton, around 3 p.m., deputies recovered an abandoned 2000 Ford Mustang on Lollar Branch Road in Stanton. The car was stolen from Orchard Road in St. Clair earlier that day.
During the investigation, Pelton said information was given by a witness on a possible location of the suspect and a second stolen vehicle, a 2006 Chevy Silverado. Deputies located the 2006 Chevy Silverado on Highway WW in St. Clair.
Deputies pursued the vehicle for five miles, which ended when the driver of the truck crashed in the Anaconda area, according to Pelton.
Two suspects fled from the vehicle on foot into a wooded area. Around 8:45 p.m., deputies arrested Schuster near the crash scene. Thrower was arrested Thursday.
The truck was stolen Monday, Nov. 27, from Wayside in Villa Ridge.
The prosecutor requested his bond to be set at $30,000.
