Authorities are looking for a man who attempted to steal an ATM from a Sullivan area convenience store Thursday using a dolly.

Franklin County deputies were dispatched the Circle K located at 408 S. Highway 185 at 5:43 a.m. March 16 after store employees confronted the man who said he was there to service the ATM, said Sheriff Steve Pelton

The man was wearing a black hooded coat or sweatshirt, black ski mask, black gloves and tan pants. He fled on foot when the staff said they were calling 911.

The suspect ran south across East Springfield Avenue behind businesses and into a residential neighborhood.

Deputies and Sullivan police officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

He is described as a white male, approximately 180-200 pounds and approximately 5 feet and 8 inches to 6 feet tall.

The man did not theraten employees and he did not show a weapon, Pelton said.
