Two Pacific residents were hurt Sunday, May 6, in a motorcycle crash in Jefferson County.

John B. Gillespie, 31, was driving a 2006 Harley-Davidson FXS southbound on Highway F at 1:13 a.m. when the motorcycle left the road at a curve, overcorrected, left the road again and struck a tree, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol preliminary report.

Gillespie and passenger Rebecca J. Gillespie, 38, were transported to Mercy Hospital St. Louis by Meramec EMS. John Gillespie was driving too fast for conditions and sustained serious injuries, the patrol said.

Neither the driver nor the passenger were wearing safety devices, according to the patrol.
