Samera Majeed, MD, has joined Mercy Clinic Family Medicine in Pacific.
Along with Stephanie Meyer, MD, and nurse practitioners, Nicole Meitz and Shawna Surman, she will see patients at 307 Noonan Drive in Pacific.
Majeed attended the State University of New York at New Paltz and received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology.
With a strong interest in medicine, she pursued a medical career and obtained her degree from the Medical University of the Americas-Nevis, West Indies.
Wanting to help rebuild the New Orleans community after Hurricane Katrina, Dr. Majeed completed her training at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, La.
Majeed believes a doctor-patient relationship should be treated as a friendship based upon trust. She is passionate about education and thinks it’s very important to educate all her patients on their disease process.
“I want to help patients understand — in simple terms — what is going on with their body, how we will approach their treatment and most importantly how that treatment will help their disease process,” she said. “My goal is always to ensure my patients leave my office feeling better.”
Majeed is board certified in family medicine and provides a full range of medical care for patients of all ages. She has a special interest in primary care, preventive medicine, chronic disease management and counseling, hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol, heart disease, anxiety and depression, women’s health, sleep disorders and sleep hygiene.
Majeed also performs joint and trigger-point injections.
