Franklin County authorities are investigating a report that a 17-year-old man stabbed another man during an altercation at a Gray Summit home.
Garrett Brown, 19, told sheriff’s deputies that he had been stabbed Nov. 11, when a female came to his home in Avery Trailer Court to retrieve her property.
An argument broke out between the two and the female’s brother who came with her, the sheriff’s office reported. The altercation became physical between the two men and at one point, Garrett said he thought the other man punched him in the back but later determined he had been stabbed.
The sheriff’s office said the wound appeared to be from a pocketknife. Deputies arrested the 17-year-old for investigation of assault and during questioning he said the two were playing around when the victim was accidentally stabbed.
The suspect’s name was not released because he has not been charged with a crime.
