A 75-year-old St. Louis County man who may have driven the wrong way on Interstate 44 for several miles early Wednesday died after he caused a five-vehicle pileup in the eastbound lanes east of Stanton.
The Missouri Highway Patrol stated in its online report that Roy T. Blair, of Richmond Heights, died from injuries suffered in the 4:35 a.m. crash at I-44 mile marker 233.2. He was pronounced dead at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan. He was not wearing a safety belt and was ejected from his vehicle.
