A Pacific area man who is accused of threatening his roommate with a knife and tree saw was charged Tuesday.
Michael S. McPherson, 36, was charged in Franklin County Associate Circuit Court with second-degree kidnapping, unlawful use of a weapon and misdemeanor assault. He is being held in the Franklin County Jail on a $30,000 cash-only bond.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, on Monday, Nov. 5, McPherson held his roommate against his will at their home in the 3700 block of Sunset Drive outside Pacific. The victim told authorities he was crouched on the floor of the home for several hours for fear he would be killed.
McPherson was arrested on warrants for traffic charges, non-support, resisting arrest and property damage.
