A Leslie woman died late Saturday night in a UTV crash.
Kaileigh D. Weaks, 29, was pronounced dead by Union Ambulance personnel at around 11:20 p.m. Saturday, June 2, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol preliminary crash report.
The patrol report states Weaks was a passenger in a Polaris Ranger driven by Casey B. Weaks, 26, Leslie. The UTV was traveling eastbound on Fox Creek Road east of Steusse Road.
According to the report, the UTV traveled partially off the right side of the road and the driver, Casey Weaks, corrected the steering. The vehicle then traveled off the left side of the road and struck a tree.
Casey Weaks sustained moderate injuries in the crash, according to the patrol. The report states both parties were not wearing any safety devices.
Casey Weaks was arrested by the Highway Patrol at the scene for suspicion of involuntary manslaughter and driving while intoxicated, according to a patrol report. No formal charges have been filed.
