One lane of Highway 47 south of the Missouri River bridge in Washington will close next week for about one month.

The lane the closure will not be on the bridge, but on the Washington side of Highway 47 leading up to the bridge.

The southbound, right lane of Highway 47 will be closed from the bridge south to Third Street beginning Monday, Aug. 20, at 8:30 a.m.

The lane will remain closed “around-the-clock” until mid-September, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.

The lane closure will allow crews to work on drainage, sidewalk and pavement as part of the Highway 47 Missouri River bridge project. All work is weather permitting.
