A county man is charged with felonies after authorities seized two pipe bombs and methamphetamine Thursday during an investigation at a Robertsville area home.
Jared H. Combs, 32, was charged Friday, May 19, in Franklin County Associate Circuit Court with unlawful possession of an explosive weapon and possession of a controlled substance. He is being held at the Franklin County Jail on a $30,000 cash-only bond.
According to Sheriff Steve Pelton, deputies and members of the Multi-County Violent Crimes and Narcotics Unit were conducting an investigation at an address in the 5900 block of Calvey Creek Road where they seized the suspected meth and improvised explosive devices, commonly called pipe bombs.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol Bomb Squad responded to the scene and confirmed that one of the devices was a working explosive device, Pelton said.
Investigators also located two firearms in the residence.
