Franklin County Fair Chairman Robby Keen said the Fair Board is excited for the changes to this year’s event.

In addition to hosting the annual festivities a month earlier than in the past, a new ride company has been signed on this year.

“We are very excited about the new ride company that we can utilize with the new Fair dates,” Keen said. “We also were able to secure the (tractor) pulling sled for the weekend, this with the demolition derby on Friday should prove to pack the stands.”

Instead of a main stage entertainment act, visitors can look forward to entertainment throughout the Fair in the entertainment tent.

The sixth annual Fair parade is set for Thursday, June 7, at 6 p.m.

After the parade, all visitors can enter the fair for $10 per person. Activities will include the pig scramble, pedal tractor pull, rides and assorted other activities for families to enjoy.

Keen said the Fair Board is trying a new approach to keep the annual event a thriving part of the community.
