Jamie Keen, St. Clair, has announced her candidacy to serve as Franklin County collector.
Keen, a third-generation business owner in Franklin County, offers an extensive background in both business and public service.
She has been heavily involved in various aspects of the community her entire life, and currently serves as president of the St. Clair Area Chamber of Commerce.
She has served as an East Central College adjunct instructor of business management and marketing, and is a recent Missouri Chamber of Commerce Leadership Missouri graduate, a program aimed to network leaders and resources to benefit Missouri citizens.
Keen also has served as treasurer and board member of the Franklin County Fair, member of the Scenic Regional Library Foundation Board, serving in both the president and vice president roles, and is a current member of the Board of Equalization.
“As a member of the Board of Equalization I have experienced firsthand some of the challenges and opportunities within our county,” Keen said. “I’m excited to bring additional accountability and transparency to the collector’s office. No one is happy when they write a check for their taxes. I’m committed to making that process a little easier for the taxpayers by streamlining the process and improving public relations.”
Keen added her background in business, along with her education, grit and determination, make her a dynamic fit to serve the citizens of Franklin County as collector of revenue.
“I am a strong, independent voice, but also a team player, and I’m looking forward to working with the other county offices to improve the county’s business operations, modernize business practices, and improve relations with the taxpayers,” Keen said. “As collector I will ensure oversight and fiscal responsibility by providing transparency for all taxpayers.”
Keen is a member of St. Clair Southern Baptist Church and is a lifelong citizen of Franklin County, where she resides with her husband, Robby, and daughter, Clara.
She earned two bachelor’s degrees and a certificate from Webster University, completed her master’s in business administration at Missouri Baptist University, and is near completion of her doctorate in management from Webster University.
