Franklin County deputies shot and killed a “large, aggressive” dog Monday when the animal charged an officer who was attempting to serve a search warrant.

The incident happened at a home in the 9000 block of Rye Creek Road where deputies had gone to seize a truck that was reported stolen from Jefferson County.

Deputies raided the property in the past and seized stolen goods and made numerous arrests there, according to Sheriff Gary Toelke.
