A Catawissa man sustained serious injuries Saturday, Nov. 11, when the car he was driving left the road and overturned near Pacific.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol preliminary report, Timothy W. Loeffel, 40, was driving a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan eastbound on West Osage Street west of Nabor Avenue at 9:24 p.m. when the van struck the rear of 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by James E. Nantz, 61, Pacific.
The Nantz vehicle was stopped on West Osage Street waiting to make a left turn, the patrol said.
The Loeffel vehicle traveled off the road, struck a concrete culvert and overturned onto its side, according to the patrol.
Loeffel was taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis by Meramec Ambulance. He was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.
