The Developmental Services of Franklin County board approved a plan to search for and hire a new executive director to replace Dr. Ron Kruse who will retire in 2015.

Kruse has been in his position since shortly after the formation of the organization in 1987.

The Quality Coach of Washington was selected to assist with the search for candidates. Quality Coach also will conduct a preliminary screening of applicants.

The most highly qualified candidates will meet with several individuals served by developmental services. They also will be interviewed by a committee of staff members and executives of organizations funded by DSFC. The board of directors will make the final selection.

“The board has been considering for over a year the qualities they want to see in a new executive director,” Kruse said. “There has been a thorough discussion of the issues facing individuals with developmental disabilities and the traits a leader needs to address those issues.”

Information on the position will be posted at by the end of August.
