One person was killed and another seriously injured Friday night in a head-on collision on Highway O in the Robertsville area.
The Missouri Highway Patrol said Gregory Light, 49, Catawissa, was pronounced dead at the scene by Meramec Ambulance personnel.
Light was driving a 2007 Dodge westbound on Route O when his car was struck head-on by an eastbound 2010 Audi driven by Jael M. Clem, 38, Pacific, according to the preliminary patrol report.
The Clem car overturned an ended up on its top in the eastbound lane, the patrol said. The Light car ran off the left side of the road.
The patrol said the crash occurred when Clem attempted to pass an eastbound 2013 Chevrolet Sonic driven by Edward N. Fox, 23, Pacific.
Fox and Clem were wearing safety belts and were not injured. However a passenger in Clem's car, Yasmin Clem, 11, was seriously injured. She was taken by Meramec Ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis at Creve Coeur.
According to the patrol report Yasmin Clem was wearing a safety belt but Light was not.
Jael Clem was cited later for manslaughter, second-degree assault and suspicion of driving while intoxicated, according to an arrest report on the patrol's website.
The 9:18 p.m. crash happened just west of Jefferson Street.
