UPDATED: A man accused of stabbing his girlfriend’s son-in-law was charged Tuesday afternoon in a felony complaint.
Donald L. Heigl, 60, Gray Summit, is charged in the warrant with first-degree assault and armed criminal action in the stabbing that occurred Monday night on Hammer Avenue just west of the Pacific city limits.
Heigl is being held in the Franklin County Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
Police allege Heigl stabbed Nathaniel Rankins, 35, Gray Summit, in the abdomen and leg during an argument about 11 p.m. Monday.
One Franklin County man is in the hospital and another is in custody following an altercation Monday night that ended in a stabbing, authorities said.
Franklin County Sheriff Gary Toelke said his officers are investigating the incident in which 35-year-old Nathaniel Rankins, Gray Summit, was wounded.
The sheriff reported that Rankins sustained stab wounds to the abdomen and leg. He was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis, Creve Coeur, for treatment.
The incident happened about 11 p.m. at a home on Hammer Drive.
