A jury from Franklin County recommended the death sentence for Jesse D. Driskill, 32, of Lebanon.

The panel of local residents who spent the last week in Laclede County during the trial of Driskill, found the man guilty on Wednesday.

The jury returned the death sentence verdict Friday afternoon after about four hours of deliberation.

Driskill was found guilty of murdering Johnnie Wilson, 82, and his wife, Coleen Wilson, 76, July 26, 2010, during a burglary at their rural home in western Laclede County.

Driskill was convicted of  two counts of first-degree murder,  burglary, forcible rape,  sodomy and  armed criminal action.

Circuit Judge Kenneth Hayden will consider the jury's decision when he sentences Driskill on Nov. 5, according to the Associated Press.
