A Franklin County man was seriously hurt Tuesday morning, Oct. 29, when the car he was riding in ran off a Jefferson County road and crashed.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Derrick N. McJunkin, 20, Villa Ridge was driving too fast for road conditions on southbound Highway NN and failed to negotiate a curve.
The 1992 Mercury ran off the left side of the road and the rear of the vehicle struck a tree, according to the preliminary patrol report.
A passenger, Travis Green, 25, Gray Summit, sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center for treatment.
Both McJunkin, who was not injured, and Green were wearing safety belts, according to the patrol.
The 11:40 a.m. crash happened south of Eime Road.
