April 2 Ballot Has Variety of Races

Other than larger city races, the April 2 election ballot also will feature contests for school districts, smaller cities, ambulance districts, fire districts and a road district.

Three candidates are running in the city of Gerald mayoral race — Daniel Maxwell, Ed Adams and Otis Schulte. It is a two-year term.

Incumbent Howard Haase and Dawn Czeschin are running for a two-year alderman Ward 1 seat in Gerald.

And three candidates are seeking a two-year Ward 2 alderman seat in Gerald — Keith Wehmeyer, Ryan McCrary and David Luechtefeld.

In New Haven, four candidates are running for the two-year mayor seat — incumbent George Panhorst, Joseph Bennett, Chris Nixon and Harold Ray.

And two candidates are running for a two-year term as Ward 2 alderman in New Haven — Gerald Sewell and John Estes.

In Sullivan, three candidates are running for the two-year term of city collector — Staci Pfeuffer, incumbent Judy McPherson and Joe Stillson.

Also in Sullivan, two candidates are running for the two-year Ward 2 alderman seat — incumbent Craig Kase and Sandra K. Davidson.

School Districts

Three candidates are running for two open seats on the Franklin County R-II School District — Pat Meyer, Robert Homeyer and incumbent Tracey Clines. It is a three-year term.

For the Spring Bluff R-15 School District, three candidates are seeking two open seats — incumbent Jeffrey Holland, incumbent Jim Goodman and Elizabeth Keller. It is a three-year term.

Three candidates also are seeking two open seats on the Sullivan School District Board for three-year terms. They are incumbent Robby Berti, incumbent Randy Stack and Sandra Davidson.

And three candidates are running for two open seats on the New Haven No. 138 School Board for three-year terms. They are incumbent Nadine Pruessner, incumbent Brenda Menke and Stephen Miller.

The Richwoods R-VII School District has two seats open, and three are running for the three-year terms. They are incumbent Ted Barrett, incumbent Michelle Emily and Jamie Hoffmann.

Two three-year seats on the Gasconade County R-II School Board have drawn three candidates — Douglas Dunlap, Anthony Alvarez and incumbent Linda Baehr.

Ambulance/Fire/Road Districts

The Meramec Ambulance District has two director positions on the ballot. One is for Meramec Ambulance Subdistrict 1, and the other is for Subdistrict 4.

Incumbent Julie Long of Gray Summit and David Casey of Pacific are seeking votes for the director position of Subdistrict 1.

Incumbent Dave Myers and Ronald Suerig, both of Pacific, are seeking the director position of Subdistrict 4. The positions are three-year terms.

Two candidates have filed for a board seat on the Gerald-Rosebud Fire Protection District. Candidate John Zelch of Rosebud is already on the board, and he faces James Hackstedt of Gerald.

Zelch was recently appointed after a former member resigned. It is a four-year term.

Two candidates have filed for a six-year term as a board member on the Pacific Fire Protection District. They are Chris Wymer and incumbent Edwin Bruns.

The Washington Special Road District also has a board seat on the ballot.

Incumbent Ed Fischer and Glennon Gildehaus, both of Washington, are seeking the three-year term.
