A new felony charge has been filed against a Franklin County man accused of severely beating a woman at a motel last year.
Lucas D. Glenn, 26, St. Clair, is charged in the new warrant with resisting arrest in connection with a felony charge. His bond on that charge was set at $75,000 cash-only.
Glenn initially was charged with first-degree domestic assault in a March 14, 2012, incident. His bond was set at $50,000 in that case.
The suspect was released after posting that bond, but he failed to make a scheduled court appearance Monday, Feb. 11, and a judge issued an arrest warrant for him.
Deputies received a tip that the man was at a home west of St. Clair and went to investigate the report shortly after 7 p.m. Monday.
Glenn apparently saw or heard the deputies and fled to the basement, then crawled out of a window, but deputies were waiting outside.
Sheriff Gary Toelke said Glenn fought with the deputies who used a taser gun to subdue him.
Previous Charge
Deputies were called at midnight on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, to respond to the Lost Pine Motel after someone reported an assault. When they arrived they found an intoxicated man on the ground near the motel’s parking lot. The man, identified as Glenn, was detained by deputies.
They then found a woman lying on the bathroom floor in one of the motel rooms. She had been beaten and had sustained severe injuries to her face and body, according to a sheriff’s office report. The injuries were so severe that at first the 29-year-old woman was unable to speak to deputies.
She later was taken by ambulance to Missouri Baptist Hospital, Sullivan, but before the ambulance left the motel, the woman was able to tell deputies that she had been beaten by her boyfriend.
Glenn, when questioned by deputies, refused to comment about the incident. He was taken to the Franklin County Jail where he was booked and later charged.
In addition to the charges here, Glenn has a pending felony case in Jefferson County where he is charged with unlawful use of a weapon in an incident that occurred Feb. 15, 2012, according to court records. His bond was set at $3,500 in that case.
