New charges have been filed in the investigation of several thefts earlier this year in the Villa Ridge and Union areas.
Back in February, authorities charged Marvin D. Harris, 61, and Christopher C. Shade, 23, both of Gerald, with felony stealing in the theft of an ATV Sunday, Feb. 23, from Red Barn Trailer Court off Highway O.
The theft was reported to the sheriff’s office about 1:17 a.m. and within a short time deputies stopped a pickup truck near the intersection of Highway O and Route AM, according to a report. The ATV was in the truck bed.
In new felony complaints issued this week, Harris and Shade are charged with felony stealing in a Jan. 26 stealing incident, according to court documents.
In addition, Caleb S. Kasatka, 19, Gerald, was charged this week with one count each of second-degree burglary and felony stealing in connection with the theft in mid-February of a riding lawn mower and other items from property on Indian Prairie Road east of Union.
A 16-year-old Gerald teen also was arrested in the investigation and was turned over to juvenile authorities.
Deputies recovered most of the stolen property.
Sheriff Gary Toelke said the theft incidents are related.
Bond was set at $20,000 for Harris, Shade and Kasatka.
