Two new conditional use permits and two rezoning requests are on the agenda for the Tuesday, April 16, Franklin County Planning and Zoning meeting.

Rich McDaniel, who lives at 4785 St. Ann Road on the corner of St. John’s Creek Road in Township 44 North is requesting a CUP to operate an indoor archery/shooting range on his property.

McDaniel’s property is zoned agricultural Non-Urban.

Also requesting a CUP is Dave J. Hanneken, who lives at 7250 Highway YY, just west of Rolling Hills Drive in Township 43 North.

Hanneken is requesting the CUP to operate an automotive repair shop.

On the agenda for zoning changes is an unnamed applicant, who has requested an amendment to Article 7: Zoning Districts of the 2001 Unified Land-Use Regulations of Franklin County. A full text of the proposed amendment may be obtained from the zoning commission office at the Franklin County Government Center, 400 E. Locust St., Union.

Edward and Marilyn T. Heisel also are requesting a rezoning of their 1.53-acre parcel located at 385 Highway M, just south of Wall Street in Township 43 North and Boles Township.

The Heisels are requesting a change from Agricultural Non-Urban zoning to Commercial Activity 3/Community Business.

No public comments will be heard on either rezoning case.

Old Business

The planning board could vote on a CUP request for a “Special Event, Occasional” at property located at 1255 Rabbit Lane, west of Willow Ford Road in Township 42 North.

The request is from Event 360, Inc., to hold a “Muckfest” Saturday, May 18, on 298 acres located on Rabbit Lane approximately one-quarter mile west of Willow Ford Road in Calvey Township.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Also back on the agenda is a CUP request from Robert J. Dix to operate a shooting/archery range on 210 acres off of Highway 47 south just before Soaring Hawk Road in the Lonedell area.

Multiple objections to the shooting range were heard at the March meeting, and the planning board opted to send the matter before its review committee, which will come back with its recommendation Tuesday.

No further public comments will be heard on the matter.

The planning board will meet at 7 p.m. on the second floor commission chambers located in the government center.
