Franklin County drug task force officers want to question two men about a suspected meth lab site located west of Sullivan.

Last Tuesday, Feb. 12, Franklin County deputies went to investigate a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on Dakota Lane, off Highway H, and found remnants of a meth lab in an adjacent wooded area.

They reported their find to task force members who went to the scene Wednesday to clean up the lab, according to Detective Cpl. Scott Briggs of the Franklin County Narcotics Enforcement Unit.

Briggs said when they arrived at the site they encountered two men who fled in a vehicle when they saw the officers.

Based on the vehicle, officers identified the suspects “and we’re looking for them now,” Briggs said.

They are a 31-year-old Sullivan man and a 36-year-old man from Washington, Briggs said.

“It appeared they were setting up to cook meth when we showed up,” he remarked.
