Local Road Projects Included in TIP Plan

There are several projects in Franklin County that will be presented for final approval on the draft Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) under consideration by the East-West Gateway (EWGW) Council of Governments.

EWGW representatives and Missouri Department of Transportation engineers Wednesday attended an open house meeting on the 2014-2017 TIP at the Franklin County Administrative building, Union.

Also on hand were representatives from Franklin County and local municipalities.

The TIP outlines state, county and municipal transportation-related projects to be authorized for federal funding through the EWGW. The board of directors is expected to make a final decision on the projects during its July 31 meeting.

Following are all new projects in Franklin County, including the agency that applied for the grants, the total costs and a breakdown of local matches and federal grants:

• Franklin County, Bend Road bridge over the Meramec River right of way acquisition — total cost of $200,000 with a federal grant of $160,000 and a local match of $40,000;

• MoDOT, Highway 100 to Highway AC, pavement improvements — total state cost of $1,504,000. There is no match;

• MoDOT, Highway 185 south of Interstate 44 to west of the Meramec River, pavement, shoulders and curve improvements — total cost of $886,000 with a federal grant of $735,300 and a state match of $81,700;

• MoDOT, Highway 47 over the Missouri River from Fifth Street, Washington, bridge replacement — total cost of $60,139,000 with state funds of $56,339,000 and a local match of $800,000;

• MoDOT, Highway 30 to Washington County line, pavement, shoulders and curve improvements — total cost of $3,478,000 with a federal grant of $2,897,100 and a state match of $321,900;

• MoDOT, Highway BB from Highway A to Highway 50, pavement improvements — total state cost of $391,000 with no federal or local match;

• MoDOT, Highway E from Highway Y to Highway H, pavement improvements — total state cost of $712,000 with no federal or local match;

• MoDOT, Highway WW from the Interstate 44 Outer Road to end of state maintenance, pavement improvements — total state cost of $628,000 with no federal or local match;

• MoDOT, Highway YY from Highway A to Highway 185, pavement improvements — total state cost of $1,419,000 with no federal or local match;

• New Haven, Maupin Street from Wall Street to 400 feet south of the Locust Street reconstruct road, ADA improvements — total cost of $1,297.197 with a federal grant of $1,037,757 and a local match of $259,440;

• Pacific, Viaduct Street, Hogan Road and westbound on/off I-44 ramps, construct roundabout — total cost of $2,085,343 with a federal grant of $1,493,830, a state match of $303,000 and a local match of $288,513;

• Pacific, Thornton Road Phase 2 from Molly’s Street to North Monroe Street, resurfacing, adding sidewalks and lighting — total cost of $1,830,471 with a federal grant of $580,162 and a local match of $250,309;

• St. Clair, Main Street from Commercial Avenue to Hickory Street, resurfacing, ADA improvements and curb and gutters — total cost of $1,141,324 with a federal grant of $804,641 and a local match of $336,683;

• Sullivan, West Springfield, traffic signals at Elmont Road — total cost of $350,000 with a federal grant of $280,000 and a local match of $70,000;

• Union, Denmark Road Phase 2 from St. Andrews Drive to Grandview Farms Drive, resurfacing and sidewalk construction — total cost of $1,429,376 with a federal grant of $1,016,056 and a local match of $413,320; and

• Washington, Bluff Road from Highway 100 to Vossbrink Drive, resurfacing and right turn lanes at Highway 100 — total cost of $825,000 with a federal grant of $660,000 and a local match of $165,000.
