A Pacific man died Saturday night when he was thrown from his motorcycle and struck by another vehicle near Eureka, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

The 8:20 p.m. crash happened on Interstate 44 west of Six-Flags Road in St. Louis County.

The patrol said Clyde J. Cooper, 39, Pacific, was westbound on a 2002 Yamaha motorcycle and was ejected when the cycle  struck the rear of a 1995 Jeep Cherokee driven by Alan C. Fish, 77, Cuba.

Cooper then was struck by a westbound 2003 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Gary D. Davis, 47, Cuba, according to the preliminary patrol report.

Cooper was taken by ambulance to St. Clare Medical Center at Fenton where he was pronounced dead.

No one else was injured in the crash.
