Three people were seriously injured Friday in a head-on collision southwest of New Haven, the Missouri Highway Patrol reported.
The 12:15 p.m. crash happened on Highway E west of Big Branch Road.
Brandon J. Gerlemann, 19, New Haven, was driving a 2008 Nissan eastbound on Highway E when he lost control, the patrol said.
His car crossed into the westbound lane and collided head-on with an oncoming 2000 Ford Explorer driven by Diana F. Praul, 61, Hermann, according to the preliminary patrol report.
The patrol said Gerlemann was driving too fast for road conditions.
Both drivers and Marissa D. Cochran, 18, Rosebud, a passenger in the Gerlemann vehicle, were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Washington for treatment of serious injuries, the patrol reported.
Gerlemann and Cochran were not wearing safety belts but Praul was, according to the patrol.
