The second annual candlelight vigil at the Angel of Hope Memorial Garden in Washington will be held Friday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m., at the garden, located south of Lions Lake in the city park.

Roses to lay by the angel statue will be provided for parents.

The garden is a quiet place where parents, grandparents, other relatives and friends can go to reflect, mourn and remember children who have died. The garden is for people throughout the region and was funded entirely through private donations and fund-raisers.

The Angel of Hope is based on the angel statue in Richard Paul Evans’ best-selling novel, “The Christmas Box.” It stands as a symbol of hope for all parents who have experienced the death of a child.

Candlelight vigils at similar gardens are held throughout the country each Dec. 6.
