Franklin County narcotics detectives plan to apply for charges against a man accused of possessing meth lab components.
The man was arrested Monday night at an apartment on Julie Ann Court, off Highway A, where detectives went to question another man about a drug overdose incident in Washington earlier that evening.
Washington police said when police and emergency personnel responded to care for the overdose victim, another man who had been with the victim fled on foot.
Officer Nathan Pinter with the Franklin County Narcotics Unit said the task force received information that the suspect who fled was at the apartment off Route A.
When Pinter and another detective went to the apartment, they saw drug paraphernalia in plain view, then were given permission to search a car parked outside.
Pinter said the officers found some suspected heroin and meth lab components in the car.
The car’s owner along with a female suspect were taken into custody and later released.
Pinter said the suspected heroin will be taken to the Missouri Highway Patrol lab for analysis.
Authorities said the drug overdose victim was taken to a St. Louis hospital. Information about the man’s condition was not available.
