The county’s unemployment rate stayed at 7.5 percent in July.
This was higher than the state’s unemployment rate of 7.1 percent. The U.S. unemployment rate in July was 7.4 percent compared to 8.4 percent in July 2012.
In July 2012, the county’s unemployment rate was 8.6 percent.
In April and May, the county’s unemployment rate was at 6.8 percent, which was the lowest in almost 4 1/2 years.
But in June the rate climbed back to 7.5 percent and stayed that way in July.
Since the recession started, the county’s unemployment rate has fluctuated, and was at its highest in February 2010 at 13.1 percent.
The last time the county had double-digit unemployment was February of 2012 when it was 10.2 percent.
