Two Killed Tuesday in Head-On Crash in West Franklin County
Two Gasconade County residents were killed in a head-on crash on Highway 100 in Franklin County Tuesday afternoon, the Missouri Highway Patrol reported.
The patrol said Amanda L. Witthaus, 27, Hermann, and Austin L. VanBooven, 21, Rhineland, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
VanBooven was eastbound driving a 2005 Chevrolet and crossed the center line, according to the preliminary patrol report.
His car collided head-on with the westbound Witthaus car, a 2011 Hyundai, the patrol reported.
The 4:39 p.m. crash happened one-tenth of a mile west of Grant School Road, the patrol reported.
New Haven Ambulance District personnel pronounced both drivers dead at the scene.
