Area residents are invited to attend a MoDOT public meeting about the preliminary design of the new Route 47 Bridge over the Missouri River Tuesday, July 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at St. Vincent’s Parish located off of Highway 94 near Dutzow.
The public is encouraged to attend anytime between those hours to review images of the new Route 47 Missouri River Bridge and provide comments on the design.
“The bridge provides a vital link between Warren County to the north and Franklin County to the south, and before we begin finalizing the design, we want to ensure all area residents have the opportunity to see the design and make comments,” said Erik Maninga, MoDOT area engineer.
“The proposed new bridge would provide wider, safer and more efficient travel for many motorists in this area,” Maninga added.
The new bridge is currently in the design phase and construction is anticipated to begin in late 2016. The estimated cost for this project is $55 million.
Those not able to attend the public meeting can visit the emissourian.com home page, which has a link to the bridge design.
