Write-In Candidates Win Sewer Districts Spots

Pat Coughlin received the most write-in votes for the five-year term Calvey Creek Sewer Supervisor spot. Of the 24 votes cast, Coughlin picked up 7 (29.17 percent).

No candidates filed for the season and the county received 15 different write-in votes.

Karen Whiteman finished second with three votes. Others receiving votes were Larry Walck (2), Ed Bode (1), Charles Roberts (1), Clay Hodge Jr. (1), White (1), Mrs. Wibe (1), Joel Bennett (1), Tim Baker (1), Edward Fox (1), Mrs. Whiteman (1), Dino Cracchiolo (1) and Marie Heipts (1). One ballot was left blank.

In the Calvey Creek Sewer Supervisor two-year unexpired race, Karen Weitman won with six of the 17 votes (35.29 percent). The second-place finisher was Karen Whiteman with three votes.

Others receiving voters were Ed Gass (2), Mary Phipps (1), Clay Hodge Jr. (1), Alice Whalen (1) and Charlie Roberts (1). Two ballots were left blank.

Crestview Supervisor

Karen Weitman also won the election for Crestview Sewer District Supervisor. Her write-in vote was only vote cast in the race.

Despite the win, she will be unable to serve because she does not live in the sewer district. It is uncertain at this time how or if the seat will be filled either by appointment or special election.

Sylvan Manor-Sunset Acres Sewer District

Clinton Hafley picked up the most write-in votes to earn the two-year unexpired term for the Sylvan Manor-Sunset Acres Sewer District.

Hafley picked up 10 of the 12 votes cast (83.33 percent). He beat out Ernest Lee (two votes, 16.67 percent) for the seat.
