Two people were arrested last week when Franklin County narcotics detectives went to investigate suspicious activities at a home in the Lonedell area.

“We had been getting information that people were cooking meth at the home in the 1700 block of West Linda Lane,” said Detective Cpl. Scott Briggs with the Franklin County Narcotics Enforcement Unit.

When officers responded to the house Thursday afternoon they said they smelled a strong chemical odor and meth-related items around the property, Briggs said.

Detectives contacted the owner of the house who was not at home, and as they were preparing to make a forced entry two people came out and were taken into custody.

Inside the house, officers found items used to make meth and some finished meth, Briggs said.

Kurtis Krueger, 24, was arrested on a probation violation warrant in a prior burglary case, Briggs said. Tavia Krueger, 24, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Cole County for failure to appear in court.

Items seized in the investigation will be analyzed by the Missouri Highway Patrol lab prior to a decision on issuing possible additional charges in the drug case.
