Steven Weingart has withdrawn from the Franklin County recorder of deeds race.
Weingart, a Washington Republican, filed last week to run for the seat. But the county clerk's office said Monday morning that he has since exited the race.
Jennifer L. Metcalf, a Union Republican, is now the the only candidate for the four-year seat.
Incumbent Sharon Birkman has announced she will not seek re-election.
State Rep. Dave Schatz, R-Sullivan, has filed to run against State Sen. Brian Nieves, R-Washington, for the District 26 Missouri Senate seat.
Republican Justin Alferman of Hermann has filed to run for Schatz’s Missouri House seat in District 61.
State Rep. Dave Hinson, R-St. Clair, filed for re-election to his District 119 House seat.
Incumbent State Rep. Paul Curtman, R-Pacific, filed for re-election to the 109th District House seat.
Dennis Broadbooks of Grover, a Republican, filed for the District 110 state House seat. House Speaker Tim Jones cannot run for re-election due to term limits.
Jerry Breihan of New Haven is challenging incumbent John Griesheimer of Washington for presiding commissioner. Both are Republicans.
Incumbent county office holders who have filed for re-election:
County Auditor Tammy Vemmer;
Circuit Clerk Bill D. Miller;
County Clerk Debbie Door;
Collector Linda Emmons; and
Prosecuting Attorney Robert Parks.
Four candidates have filed for the U.S. House of Representatives 3rd District seat: Incumbent Blaine Luetkemeyer, R-St. Elizabeth; John Morris, Republican, St. Peters; Leonard Steinman, Republican, Jefferson City; and Velma Steinman, Democrat, Jefferson City.
All three incumbent associate circuit court judges have filed for re-election to four-year terms. They are:
David Tobben, Washington, Republican, Division 5;
David Hoven, Washington, Democrat, Division 6;
Stan Williams, Pacific, Democrat, Division 7.
The candidate filing period runs to March 25 at 5 p.m.
