A Franklin County man was seriously injured Wednesday night in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 44, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

The 10:30 p.m. crash happened in eastern Franklin County near Pacific and involved a 2000 Dodge pickup truck driven by Michael L. Wilder, 47, Eureka, and a 2003 Nissan driven by Michael S. Triplett, 33, Leslie, according to the preliminary patrol report.

The patrol said both vehicles were eastbound on I-44 when they collided near the 255.4-mile marker.

Triplett, who was not wearing a safety belt, sustained apparent serious injuries, according to the report.

Charmain J. Wilder, 33, a passenger in the pickup truck, also was not wearing a safety belt. She received minor injuries, the patrol said.

Both were taken by Meramec Ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis, Creve Coeur, the patrol said.
