Leslie Man Charged in Assault
A Franklin County man accused of assaulting a woman and then fighting with deputies when they went to investigate the crime is facing multiple felony charges.
Robert F. Foreman, 35, Leslie, is charged with one count each of first-degree domestic assault, tampering with a victim/witness, felonious restraint and resisting arrest. A $75,000 cash-only bond was set in the case.
About 7 a.m. Thursday, March 7, deputies responded to a call from a 30-year-old woman who said her live-in boyfriend had assaulted her at the home they shared on Highway CC. She said she was struck several times and was held at knife point during the incident. She said she later fled the home when Foreman fell asleep.
Deputies then went to the home and found Foreman asleep. When they started questioning him he began fighting deputies but eventually was subdued and taken into custody, according to the sheriff’s office report.
