Two people were hurt, one seriously, Sunday afternoon in a near head-on collision on Highway 100 east of Washington.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said an eastbound 2003 Lexus driven by Tisa M. Eggers, 37, Leslie, crossed the centerline and entered the turn lane, colliding with a westbound 1990 Dodge pickup truck driven Steven E. Fortune, 49, Villa Ridge.

Fortune was stopped in the turning lane yielding to traffic, according to the preliminary patrol report.

Eggers sustained moderate injuries and a passenger in her car, Michael L. Weeley, 37, Leslie, was seriously injured and both were taken by Meramec Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Washington. They were not wearing safety belts, the patrol said.

Fortune was wearing a safety belt. The patrol reported listed him as not injured.

The 4:52 p.m. crash happened one-half mile east of Highway AT, according to the report.
