Labadie Plant's Greenhouse Gases Rise, EPA Report Says
Ameren Missouri’s Labadie plant released more greenhouse gasses in 2011 than it did in 2010, according to a new Environmental Protection Agency report.
This is opposite of the national picture, which shows emissions from power plants were almost 5 percent lower in 2011 than 2010.
The EPA report states that in 2011 the Labadie power plant produced 18.2 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions compared to 17.3 million metric tons in 2010.
Ameren’s Labadie facility was the fourth largest emitter of greenhouse gases among power plants nationally in 2011, the report states. For more details, see the Weekend Missourian.
