The Franklin County Commission this week approved a three-year contract with two firms to conduct the county’s annual financial audit.

The contract was awarded to Nichols, Stopp & VanHoy of Creve Coeur, which will provide financial auditing services and reporting, and Hochschild, Bloom & Company of Washington, which will provide professional accounting.

The total cost will be $32,000 for 2103; $33,000, 2014; and $34,000, 2015.

No other bids were submitted.

Presiding Commissioner John Griesheimer abstained from the vote because his wife works for Hochschild, Bloom & Company.

First District Commissioner Tim Brinker and Second District Commissioner Mike Schatz approved the contract.
