A Franklin County teen was seriously injured Thursday in a two-vehicle collision near Robertsville.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said Erica M. Garrett, 18, Robertsville, was transported by air ambulance from the scene of the crash on Highway N, two-tenths of a mile south of Highway O. She was taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis, Creve Coeur, with what the patrol described as serious injuries.

Garrett was northbound on Route N driving a 1995 Chrysler when the car crossed the centerline and went into the path of a southbound 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Christopher S. Stephens, 33. St. Clair, according to the preliminary patrol report.

Stephens ran off the left side of the road attempting to avoid a collision, then his truck was struck by the Garrett car, the patrol reported.

Stephens was not injured in the 4:30 p.m. crash. The patrol said both drivers were wearing safety belts.
