Anyone interested in a career in the health care field or advanced manufacturing is encouraged to attend one of the free workshop sessions East Central College will hold in the coming week.
ECC career navigator Cindy Brewer noted that the sessions would be beneficial to veterans, unemployed and underemployed individuals as well as people who qualify for the Trade Act or feel they need to improve their job skills.
“The college is participating in two grant programs administered by the U.S. Department of Labor: Missouri Manufacturing WINs and Missouri Health WINs,” noted Brewer. “Through those grants ECC can provide low-cost or no-cost training in health services, health science, and manufacturing.”
Three workshops have been scheduled over the next week at ECC’s location in Washington.
“We have set up times that should be convenient to everyone,” Brewer said.
The first session is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 4, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. A second session will be Monday and Wednesday, Jan. 6 and 8, from 5 to 8 p.m.
The last workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday and Thursday, Jan. 7 and 9.
ECC’s site in Washington is located at 1978 Image Drive, just west of Stafford Street in the Four Rivers Career Center.
To reserve a spot in one of the workshops or to learn more about the opportunities available through either grant program, people may call 636-239-0598, extension 2918 after Jan. 1, or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
