With the filing deadline for the Aug. 5 primary ending Tuesday, March 25, a few more candidates have signed up to run for county and state offices.

There is now a race for the collector of revenue seat with Republican incumbent Linda Emmons of Union and Toriq Karim, Republican, Union.

There were four candidates for the county recorder of deeds race at press time Friday: Three Republicans — Doris Meyer, Villa Ridge; Jennifer Metcalf, Union; and Langdon Knight, Washington; and Democrat Judy Carroll, Washington.

The U.S. Congress District 3 seat had five candidates at press time: Three Republicans — incumbent Blaine Luetkemeyer, St. Elizabeth; Leonard Steinman, Jefferson City; and John Morris, St. Peters; and two Democrats — Velma Steinman, Jefferson City; and Courtney Denton, Arnold.

District 26 State Senate seat: Republican Dave Schatz, Sullivan; and Democrat Lloyd Klinedinst, Villa Ridge.

District 61 state representative: Two Republicans — Justin Alferman, Hermann; and Allan Seals, New Haven; and Democrat Tom Smith, Washington.

District 109 state representative: Incumbent Republican Paul Curtman, Pacific; and Democrat Barbara Bollmann, Villa Ridge.

District 119 state representative: Incumbent Republican Dave Hinson, St. Clair; and Democrat Susan Cunningham, Pacific.
