The Franklin County Building Department issued three permits for single-family dwellings in March, according to the monthly report.

That is eight fewer than March of 2012 and six fewer than February of this year.

The total estimated value of the homes that permits were issued for this March was $545,000.

Other permits issued in March included five for public works and utilities for an estimated total value of $120,000; other nonresidential buildings, eight, $123,900; structures other than building, one, $5,000; residential additions/modifications, three, $94,452; nonresidential additions/modifications, one, $2,000; and residential garage and carport additions, one, $10,000.

There were also two permits for manufactured homes, 16 electrical permits and three sewer permits, but those did not have a value assigned to them.
