New Haven police officials said they are following leads in Tuesday’s armed robbery at the Fidelity Communications office.

Authorities said a man went into the Circle Drive business at 4:30 p.m., pulled a handgun, aimed it at the clerk and demanded money.

He was given cash then left the office and fled on foot.

The suspect was wearing a black mask, a zippered black or dark gray hooded sweatshirt, gloves, and dark jeans and shoes, police said.

The suspect is described as a “young” male, with a thin build, between 5 feet, 5 inches tall, and 5 feet, 8 inches tall.

Police said that New Haven Elementary School and New Haven High School were on lockdown after the robbery.

Franklin County deputies also responded to the scene to assist New Haven police.

New Haven police said they have collected evidence at the scene.

Anyone with information may call New Haven police at 573-237-2211. Any tips will be kept confidential.

There also have been recent armed robberies in Union and Pacific, authorities said.
