Two county residents are charged with burglary after police recovered stolen property at a Union home.

Kurtis J. Moritz, 20, of Union; and Cody J. Simcox, 21, of Gray Summit, both are charged in Franklin County Associate Circuit Court with burglary. Prosecutors requested a $25,000 bond each.

According to Union police, Moritz and Simcox allegedly stole high-end golf clubs from a Washington residence and attempted to sell the items online.

Union police served a search warrant for Moritz at his Union home, where they found him hiding in the residence. Police located more golf clubs, and a laptop computer stolen form a vehicle in Union.

The burglary charges stem from the theft of the laptop, police said.

At the home, police also located a pair of Coach glasses and a hunting bag that have not been claimed. Also recovered are power tools that are suspected to be stolen, police said.

Authorities are looking for the owners of the items. More charges are expected to be filed.

Union police worked with Washington police during the investigation.
