Area residents are invited to run with Jordan Connell Saturday morning as he makes his way through Union during a cross-country trip.

Connell will be at Skaterz at 7 a.m. and will run from the rink to the Union Knights of Columbus Hall.

Those who don't want to run, but would like to show their support can stand  and hold signs near Highway 50 between Walgreen's and the KC Hall.

Connell is expected to depart from the KC Hall about 8 a.m.

Connell, a 2007 graduate of UHS, is in a trip from New York, N.Y., to Los Angeles, Calif.

The 3,000 mile trip is expected to take a total of 90 days.

His goal is to raise awareness about youth homelessness and help homeless youth find the shelter that they need.

During his run, Connell is staying at shelters throughout the country.
