The St. Clair Route 66 Farmers Market is set to open for another season on Saturday, May 4, in the grassy area in front of the St. Clair Health Mart Pharmacy along North Commercial Avenue.
The theme for the year is “Growing Better Together.”
“We do feel that way about the market and the community,” organizer Paula Dace said. “Our market is growing strong, and we are committed to bringing fresh locally grown products to our customers.”
A new feature this year will be adding meat to the selling menu.
“We are looking for a local vendor for this,” Dace said. “Anyone interested in becoming a vendor can get an application off of the St. Clair Area Chamber of Commerce website.”
A discount is offered if vendors sign up before May 4.
Market hours are from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday through October. A grand opening is scheduled for sometime in June.
A committee has been meeting regularly throughout the year to plan this year’s market.
“We have a great group of farmers and entrepreneurs,” Dace said. “It is an exciting time to be involved in the happenings of St. Clair.
“We will see you at the market!”
The St. Clair Route 66 Farmers Market is sponsored by the St. Clair Area Chamber of Commerce. Dace and Jay Deatheridge are the managers of the weekly event.
In past years, fresh produce, honey, breads, jams and jellies, flowers and homemade craft items have been among the items avaialble to purchase.
