New Pharmacy Making Plans to Open in St. Clair

A new pharmacy is coming to St. Clair and will be locating in the old Hardee’s restaurant building on North Main Street near Interstate 44.
City Building Inspector Jeremy Crowe confirmed to The Missourian this week that the pharmacy is coming, but he did not have many other details at this point.
“The contractor has submitted plans,” he said. “But I really don’t have much more than that.”
Crowe said he did not even know yet what the name of the pharmacy will be, whether it is part of a chain like Walgreens or CVS, or even who the owner is. The contractor is Trevor Forness, or TFC Inc., of St. James.
The drawings for the business show an expanded building from what’s currently on site that will include a drive-thru and a remodeled front. Crowe said a new roof will be built, but the outside walls will be utilized.
“Right now, I just have the plans,” Crowe said. “They’re going to completely remodel the building, redo the driveway, put up a new roof and add sight-proof fencing.”
Crowe currently is working with TFC to make sure everything is correctly in place. He said when the plans are approved, more will be known. There is some site work taking place at the location now.
The Hardee’s restaurant closed in 2007 or 2008, and the building has been vacant since. The address is 1435 N. Main St.
Crowe had no timetable as to when the pharmacy may open.
